JUST A FEW THINGS

I can’t believe it’s Friday again! Where has this past week gone?! Oh well. There is one little change from last week: THIS week I’m co-hosting the Follow Up Friday blog hop with Jodi at Heart Like A Dog instead of just participating. If you haven’t already, why not hop on over there and see what the mischievous Delilah and sweet, innocent Sampson are up to lately. Knowing Delilah, she’s probably still gloating over her human-shaming post from earlier this week. 🙂

Since last Friday, not much out of the ordinary has been going on around here. Sooooooo, I thought I’d just share a couple of things I forgot about last week. Where to start? These are probably going to be in no particular order, so forgive me if I seem discombobulated because I am today….

Well, in an effort to get Callie and Shadow moving a little more, I’ve been playing “Chuck-It” fetch with them. The last time we played I think Callie may have overdone her running a little bit, even though I try to keep it to a minimum. Here are two pix…one where Shadow is eyeing the chuck-it toy, the other is both of them looking for the ball. I’m having a hard time with the WordPress editor today, so these pix aren’t gonna be centered. Sorry.

Let's Play Mom

Let’s Go, Mom!

Where's the Ball

Where did the ball go, girls?

Then there’s my silly little demon dog, Ducky, who has decided that her empty food bowl is a toy to carry out to the living room…

Jodi, I seem to remember you posting something similar that Delilah does with her food bowl so you can probably relate quite well to this little bit of entertainment a la Ducky.

Well folks, I’m not sure if I’ve missed anything else from this past week so rather than bore you any further, I’ll simply invite you to join Jodi and me on the Follow Up Friday blog hop.

We aren’t into tennis balls much at my house, but we do have a chuck it and when my Lab cousin Lena comes over she is so focused on that thing. She would fetch until she died if she could. Crazy!

Nice to meet you! We never had a chuck it toy… then again we never successfully played with a tennis ball outside since Donna is more interested in sniffing the grass than fetching! 😀 Have a great weekend!!

Hey Sue, thanks so much for co-hosting the FUF blog hop, it’s great to have you. Love that little video of Ducky!! Delilah licks her bowl and in the process moves it around the room, I would love it if she picked it up and brought it to me! I think the best part of that video was hearing you get such amusement from it!

    Have a great weekend!!

Thanks! I was formulating my post the whole time I was cleaning the house, but once I had it on “paper” it didn’t sound right. It took a few tries. But it’s always fun co-hosting with you, Delilah, and Sampson, so I don’t mind having to write and re-write.

Anyway, Ducky is quite the little entertainer! She keeps Sam and I laughing with her antics. I’m not so sure Callie and Shadow are as amused as we are; but they’ve accepted her and do play with her as long as she doesn’t get too rough.

I can’t believe I have not found your blog before, though I think I’ve “seen you around” on other blogs commenting. 🙂 But this time I found you as co-host on Jodi’s blog, so finally got over. Since I have a golden retriever myself, I usually always want to visit other blogs with goldens! We had two goldens, but lost one to cancer last June. We also have two beagles.
Anyway, Chuck-it’s are so wonderful! I couldn’t live without it! Our golden and younger beagle LOVE to play fetch, and it really saves my arm, plus I don’t have to pick up that slimy ball. 🙂
Loved the video also….Ducky is a cutie too!

Hi Jan! Thanks for stopping by! So sorry about the passing of your one Golden! They are wonderful dogs! We have been blessed to have our girls remain healthy. They both have mild-to-moderate hip dysplasia but you wouldn’t know it when we’re playing outside! Of course, Ducky helps too–she ALWAYS wants to play and keeps her big sisters more active. And me, too. She is a little character and keeps us laughing with her antics.

Oh, thank you. Sheba, our remaining golden is a sibling to the one we lost. She’ll be 9 next month but has been very healthy. She has the beginnings of arthritis in her front shoulders, but we caught it early so hope to keep it under control with supplements. She also has a beagle sister and they love to play together! They each have their own way of playing, so it is lots of fun to watch!

Quite understandable considering what y’all have been through. And, hey, life happens — we sometimes get so wrapped up in all we have to do that we don’t know where time has gone. Hope you had a great Saturday and will have a fabulous Sunday!

I don’t think so, unless we change the “thinks” to “hopes”. She’s a really smart little “demon dog” so I would have to say that by now she’s figured out that carrying the bowl out to us isn’t going to get her any more food. I really think she sees the bowl as a toy to play with…It’s made of basically the same hard plastic as her Kong Wobbler and she used to carry the top portion of it around, too…and tries to play “keep away” when I reach down to pick it up. 🙂
