Agnes Lu and I were paired up by the 2013 Pet Blogger Gift Exchange, hosted by Something Wagging This Way Comes and I Still Want More Puppies.
Agnes is pet mom to a pair of red-eared slider turtles named Timon and Pumbaa. They are so cute that I had to share their pictures with you…
Timon, the female, is at the left margin; Pumbaa, the male, is in the center (sort of). I told you they were cute! Aren’t they precious.
And, did you know that turtles hibernate in cold weather? I never did…imagine that, a Grandma learning something new from a college student! If you go to Agnes’s blog, http://turtleshore.blogspot.com, you’ll learn even more about these two cuties. Really, you need to stop by at Turtle Shore! The turtles are precious and I love the way Agnes set up her blog for them. I wish I were half as talented as she is!
Happy New Year, Agnes…I know this was supposed to be more of a Christmas gift exchange but this holiday season has been crazy for me. Don’t know why it got so crazy, but it did. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that you’ll have a very Happy, Safe, and Healthy New Year! Looking forward to seeing Timon & Pumbaa come out of “their sweetest dreams” to discover their Christmas present!
(Sorry the pictures and margins look so “screwy” on the post…WordPress is driving me crazy tonight as I try to get this post set up! It refuses to cooperate.)
How cute! My neighbor has a pet Sulcata turtle and he’s huge! He weighs more than Pierson, and probably about as much as Maya. He’s a very interesting pet. Timon and Pumbaa sound interesting too. I will go check them out. 🙂
An old friend of mine had a red eared slider. It was fun to see how in love she was with her turtles. Just like Agnes.
It sounds like WordPress gave you such fits you deserve the prize for most hard-working gifter. Thanks for joining the Pet Blogger’s Gift Exchange.
Eh, that’s WordPress for you! I’m not gonna let it get to me any more. I’m seriously considering giving “blogspot” a try. If I like the way it turns out, I’ll cancel my WP self-hosted account and take whatever financial hit I have to. I doubt my blog will ever be as extensive as yours, or Jodi Stone’s, anyway.
Agnes’s turtles are cute, aren’t they?! I remember having a pair of turtles from Woolworth’s when I was about ten. I had to keep their little bowl/home on the back shelf of my desk so our poodles wouldn’t be able to get to them. And when I wasn’t home, I had to keep my bedroom door closed tight to keep the dogs out. But the poor little guys didn’t live very long. I think Woolworth’s was like a puppy mill for turtles.
Those are cool looking turtles! I went over and visited! Have a great weekend!
They are pretty cool, aren’t they?! Glad you stopped by!! So far a great weekend — only complaint is that it’s going by too fast. 😕
OOOH!!! Thank you very much^^ It’s really a big big surprise!!! Thank you^^
Wish you and your girls a happy and healthy new year^^
You are most welcome, sweet Agnes!! 😃🎉🎊🎈😀
I’ve never had turtles before, seen them as a kid, but never had them. Sounds like Agnes Lu has found a way to really enjoy them!!
Happy New Year Sue!
I had turtles when I was younger, and I absolutely adored them. (My names, however, were much less creative: George. And George.) I love that there’s a turtle blogger for me to follow!
Thanks for a wonderful post and for joining us for the exchange this year!
