Lazy Sunday Morning

It’s cloudy and cool outside. (It warmed up yesterday, pushing that frigid cold front out of here.)

Hubby woke me up at seven o’clock this morning for no good reason — anybody have a sledgehammer I can borrow? — and then I couldn’t get back to sleep. Grrrrr. Now he’s asleep in his recliner and the dogs are all in dreamland again. Me? I’m wide awake. But at least the TV isn’t screaming at me like it usually is when hubby’s here in the living room.

It makes me laugh the way Callie sleeps with her head in the corner…

And I love watching Shadow sleep, stretched out — sort of — on the dog bed…

And Ducky is just too cute the way her ears stand out from her head when she sleeps…

She looks like a little bat. Maybe I should have renamed her “Luna”; but then again, “Ducky” fits her so well. Don’t you agree?

Have a spectacular Sunday everyone!!

Well, at least you have something cute to look at since you’re wide awake early! They are so sweet to watch sleeping. I love the name “Ducky”, and it does seem to suit her perfectly. How did you come up with it?

Actually, the name “Ducky” was given to her by the staff at the shelter when she brought in to them by Animal Control. (She was a stray at 3 MONTHS.) Anyway, they were trying to come up with a name when one of the girls said “she’s just ducky” and the “Ducky” part stuck to her like glue. And tho I tried to come up with a more “grown up” name, I couldn’t find one that fit her as well.

Ducky’s got the Yoda ears going on. 🙂 I know what you mean about the TV. If it’s anything worse than watching the news during the week, it’s those damn fishing shows on the weekend. I love the Sundays when he isn’t home so I can enjoy some peace and quiet. LOL

    Hi Y’all,

My Papa doesn’t wake my Mama, I do! The best part is that, like you, once she’s awake and up, she UP! and we do stuff and she fixes good stuff for breakfast…sigh…what more could a pawed guy want?

    Y’all come on by,

Interesting about Ducky. The staff at the shelter had a three year old dog called Diago and I adopted him. I was never keen on his name and neither was Annabell, so after complaining that I always chose the name for the dogs, she wanted to pick the name, so she picked, Benji and he has been Benji ever since.

All these years later, “Ducky” is still the perfect name for her. And “Ducky Doodles”; and “Mama’s Baby Girl”; and “Daddy’s Little Princess”; and “Silly Dog” or “Silly Puppy”; and “Crazy Dog” or “Crazy Puppy”. She’s our little entertainer. She’s always doing something to make us laugh, or at least smile. ❤️
