IT’S A BEAUTIFUL MORNING, THINK I’LL GO OUTSIDE FOR A WHILE…..

Wasn’t this the opening verse of a 1960’s song?  I know it was, I just can’t think of the name of the song or the group that sang it.  Anyway, we had one of those mornings today that make you want to just forget all the things that might be bothering you and just enjoy the peace and quiet in your own back yard.  So, I decided to do just that.  And I took my cellphone and iPod with me.  I took the cellphone so I could use the video recorder on it, not to make or accept any phone calls…and the iPod to check Facebook postings from my family and friends and play a few games of digital solitaire.  Well, the peace and quiet in the yard inspired me to add a status and comment or two of my own…..

It’s a beautiful morning to sit under the trees in the backyard while the dogs stare — and occasionally bark — at the neighbors’ chickens. There’s a nice breeze, it’s mostly sunny, and I don’t have to listen to the dishwasher going thru its cycles up in the kitchen!

Callie was laying here next to me when she spotted a squirrel in the floor of the carport. I can’t remember the last time I saw her get up & run that fast!! GO CALLIE!!

I’m not even sure what time it is, or how long I’ve been sitting out here — I never put my watch or rings on this morning — and I love not knowing! It’s so peaceful!  Even the a/c noise doesn’t bother me.

So, while I sat outside with the dogs, I spent some time recording really short video clips of the dogs and trying to capture the birds’ songs as they flew around and landed in the tree branches above me.   The quality isn’t all that good; but, hey, the phone is about six years old.  (I refuse to buy a new one when the old one works just fine.  It takes better still pix than it does video clips, that’s for sure!)  Hopefully you’ll be able to enjoy the video anyway….
