What a great way to start the new year….
When I count my blessings, right at the top of my list with my hubby are my 2 sweet dogs. They make me laugh when I feel like crying; they make me smile when I feel like frowning; and they love me no matter what. How can I not feel blessed?
When I count my blessings, I think of my parents, my brother, and all our relatives — those still among the living and those who are not. And I think of my husband’s family that has become part of my own.
When I count my blessings, I think of my friends — those near and far, new and old, alive and not.
When I count my blessings, I think of the roof over my head, the food on my table, and the clothes on my back (and in my closets and drawers). And, I think of my beliefs and values.
Counting and being thankful for our blessings is a great way to start a new year. It takes away from the importance of the things we don’t have but sometimes wish we did. And letting go of that importance frees the soul to enjoy life as it happens. What could be better than that?!
